!! We Got Hitched !!
Yes, we got married last month. Our family and closest friends attended our happy nuptial in Stanthorpe. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing and of course the drinks were sublime! Only the best Castle Glen Wines, Sparkling Wines, Ports and Liqueurs were served.
Our Sparkling Chardonnay with Gold was the first of our fantastic products to be served in celebration after the ceremony, and of course for toasts. We drank so much of this wonderful Wine made in the Methode Champanoise , we have had to get some more out of our cellar to put on the shelves.
Another hit on the night was a cocktail called 'Chocolate Kiss'. This amazing cocktail is made with four of our Castle Glen Liqueurs. It is a dreamy creation of Knights Delight, Pecan & Hazelnut, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate and some real cream, shaken and served in a Martini Cocktail Glass with a strawberry on the side. If this is what it is like to be kissed by chocolate, I would line up every time. Yum!! To make this great cocktail at home, see the recipe featured below.
Everyone had a great time. Lots of drinks were had in celebration (everyone was still able to walk out the door), no one had to be carried home. With no chemicals or preservatives in our products the great Castle Glen claim was put to the test. No headaches or hangovers the next day! Everyone turned up bright and sparkly for breakfast the next morning.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends and family for attending and the well wishes from our customers and business associates.

Whiskello is one of Castle Glen's most popular Liqueurs. First created in 1996, Whiskello's beautiful flavour can be described as distinctly Castle Glen. It was the popularity of our Whiskey Caramel Creme Liqueur that originally gave us the idea to create a whiskey and caramel liqueur without the creme. Get in fast, stocks of our 2008 range are almost sold out! We only have a very limited supply of your favourite 2008 wines. Our 2008 range was so popular our customers bought up big, so there are only a few bottles left.
We are bottling our new 2009 range very soon. Keep posted for our release date of our first 2009 wines. Look forward to some more amazing Red Wines, White Wines, Sparkling Wines and Fortified Wines. Some of our beautiful wines have been made in the styles of previous wines and some our very own new creations.

Sticky Date Puddings with Whiskello Sauce
Serving size: Serves 6
Ingredients:
¾ cup (100g) dates, pitted and chopped
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
¾ cup (185ml) boiling water
50g butter, softened
½ cup (110g) brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup (150g) self-raising flour, sifted
½ cup toasted pecans, chopped
Toffee sauce
50g butter
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup Whiskello Liqueur
1 cup (250ml) cream
Method:
Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Lightly grease a Texas muffin tin (¾ cup capacity) or small pudding basins (1 cup capacity makes 4).
Place the dates in a small bowl with bicarbonate of soda and pour boiling water over the mixture; allow to stand for 10 minutes.
Tip date mixture into a processor and process until smooth. Add butter, sugar, eggs and flour and process until just combined.
Pour mixture into a large jug and stir in the pecans.
Divide mixture evenly into prepared pans. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and inserted skewer comes out clean.
For the toffee sauce, combine butter, sugar, cream and Whiskello in a small saucepan over low heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Bring sauce to the boil and cook for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Sauce can be made ahead of time and reheated in microwave (1 minute each) to serve.

15ml Maidens Dream Liqueur
15ml Pecan & Hazelnut Liqueur
15ml Dark Chocolate Liqueur
15ml White Chocolate Creme Liqueur
Ice
Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Shake and strain into a Martini glass and serve.
